If you would like to send us our wedding present in the mail, please send it to one of the following addresses:

401 Buckingham Rd
Garner, NC 27529

or

117 Parson Woods Ln
Cary, NC 27518

The first address is Wolfgang's parent's house and the second address is Patricia's parent's house. The reason that we'd like for you to send it to one of those two addresses is that we'll be moving into our own apartment soon, so it makes more sense to send it to a more permanent address. Thanks!

Happy Halloween

So, Wolfgang and I have made great progress on our wedding planning. In September, we choose a DJ and a videographer (both from the same company). We are also excited that we have a person to make our cake. We really look forward to working with these individuals in the next few months to create a wonderful wedding. We also found bridesmaids' dresses- YAY!

Next, we hope to find a florist!

Hope everyone is enjoying Fall and looks forward to the holidays!

We have a photographer and wedding dress!!

Hey! I hope everyone is having a good summer :)

So, we have finally decided on our photographers. Their names are Melissa and Paul and they own Wake Forest Portraits Shoppe. We really love their work, personalities, (both equally important to us) and the price (yikes, good photographers are not cheap haha). So we will be working with them over the next year to evaluate Wolfgang's hair length (he likes it really short, his mom wants it longer, and I am just worried about him looking bald in our wedding pictures) and to make sure everyone is on the same page during the big day!

Also, I have found my wedding dress!!! YAY- I'm excited. I would describe it to you, but Wolfgang and I are trying to stay traditional as possible so, because there is a high possibility of him reading this message, I can't. Most of the bridal party has seen the dress though and loves it.

Next step is finding a DJ, someone to make our wedding cake, and sending out save-the-dates. I contacted a DJ maybe a month ago and he made me feel stupid because I asked him if I could meet him on the weekend and he said "you know Im a DJ right." I still don't know what he was trying to say except that maybe he was really busy, but it has made me reluctant to contact other DJs. But Im getting over that experience and will move one and contact others. Finding the cake lady (or guy I guess), as Wolfgang explained, is already in process. We like what we tasted from the one lady, but we will be sure to try other cakes from different cake people. We still need to collect the mailing addresses of all our family members before we can send out the save-the-dates.

We still have lots to do!! Hope to update you guys soon :)

Things are a-happenin.

So, lots of news on the wedding front people. As Pat has already told you, we've chosen a reception location. We're pretty excited about that. We've also met with a few photographers. We met with this couple here in Greensboro (where I'm interning for the summer) off of a recommendation, and we both really liked them! Then, the following week Pat met with another couple in Wake Forest. She liked them even more than the Greenboro folk! All that's left is for me to meet them as well, to make sure we're all on the same page, and then we will hopefully have our photographer.

Cake.

Pat went with Stephanie (right?) to meet this cake person. The lady made some samples for them, and Pat was kind enough to save some for me and bring them up to Greenboro with here to let me try. Well, I can tell you now that I'm going to be kind of picky about the cake. I don't want it to be too birthday-cakey and I don't want to frosting to be too sweet. I don't really know what I do want, but I know that I don't want those two things at the very least. After tasting the samples, I really like "yellow cake" as the inside, compared to whatever the other two were. I want to try "pound", but if it's too much like what you get at Starbuck's ™ then I'll have to say no. I also really liked this mint-chocolate icing that was on the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, Pat and I can't really imagine a brown wedding cake. A little too moderne for us. We're going to find out if she can make a mint white-chocolate icing, but I'm skeptical as to how that white chocolate will taste. We'll see I suppose.

Once we have a photographer, we'll work on getting a DJ ("uh thaz my Dee Jay") and then we'll just have to worry about other stuff! We hope to send out some save-the-dates this month so as to give people plenty of time to get it saved.

Excitement!

WE HAVE A VENUE FOR OUR RECEPTION!

Hey, I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! You would be happy to know that Wolfgang and I have finally chosen a venue for our reception: Holiday Inn, Brownstone Hotel Raleigh, NC. The event coordinator at the hotel is great; he will be working very closely with us, guaranteeing a wonderful reception ;)

So, the next step will be finding a photographer and cake maker (I do not know what the proper term is). Of course, choosing a wedding dresses and bridesmaids' outfits will also be a priority.

I am leaving for Europe (Spain and then Italy) and we will not be able to do anything regarding the wedding for 2 weeks, but we hope to keep busy in July! Hopefully, we will be posting soon enough to give everyone updates on our process.

Huh? Whats that? Are they alive?

The answer is yes. Yes, ladies and gentleman, Patricia and I ARE alive. The fact of the matter is that we are alive and kicking. Well ok, to be honest its Pat that does most of the kicking, and that only when I've done something to really upset her. Anywho, on pain of digressing past the point of wedding stuff, I will now end this paragraph and get to the goods (yes, my loyal readership, I do take your comments to heart. Except for you Kate. Not you.)

So where are we at in the wedding planning process? Well I think that Pat mentioned last time that we looked at a bunch of reception hall places and really liked the Sheraton. Well, the Sheraton was pretty darned expensive, and I think that we liked the service/lady-in-charge there more than we liked the actual banquet halls (they had two to choose from). We later visited the Clarion and sort of fell in love with their top-floor-restauarant-with-glass walls-that-look-out-to-the-city thing. Not to mention that it was cheaper than Sheraton, but not by much.

Well, the very first place we looked at was the Brownstone Hotel. We really sort of liked this place. Theres like, a whole downstairs that you can use, and its divided into two rooms with a small lobby in between the two, not to mention that one of the rooms has a decent looking bar. The only problem is that it has sort of a rustic vibe in that it doesn't look like it was built yesterday: rather, you can tell that its sort of old (though not in a grandpa kinda way, just in a building kind of way).

Well, we had the hardest time getting in contact with the organizer person it the Brownstone, but Pat finally did (I was here in G-Boro so I wasn't there. Peep my personal blog for the down-low). Anyway, she said that the guy was really nice, not to mention that the price was a lot better than these other places, AND we already sort of liked the place. So, pending me meeting the guy and Pat and I doing another walk-through slash asking some questions, I think we have our reception hall!!!

Oh, and at first we had a bit of misunderstanding regarding the procession at the ceremony. We got that straightened out. I'll let Pat elaborate for two reasons: well for one, my post has already gotten long.

Till next time,
wolf out

We have finally done something for the wedding!!

So...last weekend, Wolfgang and I were pretty busy! We looked at various places along Hillsborough St. or near it. We started out at Holiday Inn Brownstone Hotel and we liked the fact that it had two rooms: one for drinks and food and the other for dancing. Although Wolfgang does not worry about this, I did not like the color scheme of the hotel nor the appearance of the outside of the location. Next we went to Velvet Cloak. The man at the desk was kinda rude and a little ackward, but we liked the ballroom area, which has a deck attached to it and...if we want to go big, there is also an atrium that we could rent out. Following, we went to the Clarion Hotel (the circular building a block from the church-yes extremely convenient). We were not able to speak to the event coordinator nor see the ballroom area :(, but we have contact information that we will surely use. After that, we went to the Sheraton Hotel on S. Salisbury St. We like this venue the best so far; very elegant and open. I think if it is not the one we choose, our reception area will be very similar it. The lady we spoke to was also very nice, a plus for us. We also went to the Memorial Auditorium, but a competition was taking place so we did not have a chance to talk to anyone. So yeah...we were busy, but glad that we have some places in mind!!

O, I also wanted to list our bridesmaids and groomsmen. We are very thankful for each and every one of them and want to give them special recognition throughout our process and at our wedding....so here is the list (they are in order of how close they will be standing next to us if you want to picture it):

Bridesmaids:
Stephanie Fu (maid of honor)
Kate Sanyer
Jillian Clements
Verena Rojas

Groomsmen:
Jonathan (best man)
Toney Baker
Thomas Bartlett
Doug Meardon

Geez, When will they post again?

You like how I quit on the caps after the second word in the title? Thats how I roll guys: I'm trying real hard to capitalize all my I's in here though, so keep an eye (pun not intended) out for that. Ok, so here's the scoop: obviously, Pat and I are not as diligent at doing this weblog (did you know that thats what Blog stands for, weblog? It is) thing as we would like to me. In order to attempt a remedy at this, and partly because we haven't been doing nearly as much wedding planning as we should be (*bite nails*. Hey, wadaya want me to do we're both busy! Ok, ok she's busier than me, but in my defence I like to take a lot of breaks) I've decided to take a more personal approach to our blogging experience, i.e. I want to focus less on 100% wedding stuff and more on *cue psycho-babble* "Who is the real Wolfgang (or Pat, as it were)" *end scene*.

I think Pat did a pretty awesome job summarizing the two of us. I am not going to hit backspace on my browser to go over it and make any corrections/verifications becaues I'm afraid I may delete what I've already written here, and even though I'm the tab-master in firefox (ask Pat and Jon), I'm feeling tab-lazy right now. "Oh my goodness is it true?!" it is: did I mention I can be a little lazy? I'm not a bad guy a swear! Well shux, now you guys made me feel bad about it, here I go, now what was that key combo, control-t....

Ok, I am 20 (check), I do go to State (check), and I do major in mech-e (pronounced mechy whith a brief pause after mech)- I would like to qualify that last parenthesis. When I visited Cornell before choosing what college to attend, all the kids in the engineering department there had cute, dorky names for all the majors. And everyone used them sorta off-handedly and they all know what everyone else was talking about: "Or your a mech-e? I'm a double-e. We should hook up with a chem-e and try to build a bionic robot," etc... Anywho, when first go to statte, I tried using similar language, and only about 1 out of 10 people actually caught what I meant when I said mech-e. ME is more accepted, but I felt foolish nonetheless, and thats the end of my aside. Back to Pat's post, she's so right about my hobby habit: we joke that I have too many hobbies, and really I do! Music, programming, coffee, reading, gaming - *sigh* I have a hard time keeping up! T-bake and Jon get mad at me for not devoting enough time to COD4 (look it up parents) but I just can't devote as much time as you guys. Sorry fellas!

I feel that my post has gone on long enough. Two more things I'd like to say though. I love music! I'm listening to Nas - The Lost Tapes - Everybody's Crazy right now, and will probably always tell you what I'm listening to / have stuck in my head. Second, Pat got me a new phone for my birthday and I plan on doing some mobile-bloggin with photo uploading (ah, yet another hobby!) so keep your eyes peeled for that. Till next time,
Wolf out

p.s. I am gangster. But I'm not in a gang. Gangster here is being used as an adjective, not a noun: don't get it twisted, and peep my mad grammar skillz. With the z.

yay..profiles!!!!!

sorry for not blogging in a long time!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day :) So like Wolfgang said, we have about 180-200 people on our guest list. Closer to the wedding we will post those names. Also, I think Wolfgang will soon be posting the names of our bridesmaids and groomsmen. I want to thank Jonathan for updating our website (we will soon have a wonderful background). The next step in our process is looking for a reception area (if you have any ideas, please tell us!!!). Because our profiles do not give us a lot of choices to be able to describe ourselves, I wanted to give yall some info about Wolfgang and I.

P.S. This is the second time I wrote this message. It was a lot cooler the first time and Im sorry if it sounds boring this time.

I am 21 years old and from Cary. I went to Enloe High School where I met Wolfgang. We have been dating since we were 16 years old. I go to NC State and my majors are Social Work and Spanish and I have a minor in Nonprofit Studies (yep, I take 18 hrs of credit every semester). I love giving back to the community and Im pretty sure I want to continue with Child Welfare as a social worker. I also want to be bilingual (thanks Iliane for your help!!!). Currently I work at the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals, a nonprofit organization the encourages Hipanic students to attend higher education. I do paperwork, manage the mentoring program, and coordinate events. I am so much in love with Wolfgang Sanyer and I cannot wait for everyone to come to our wedding and see what we are all about.

Wolfgang is 20 years old (yes he's a youngin) and from NY. We are so grateful that we met in highschool. He also goes to NC State (yay!) and is majoring in mechanical engineering. He works at T-Hoff machine shop and also is a TA at State. He loves taking on miscellaneous projects (ie mastering coffee making skills) and perfecting every piece of technology he owns (ie car, mp3 player, computer, and who knows what else). I hope he adds to this and explains how he can also be ridiculously silly (thats right-he's not always serious/gangster haha).

Well I hope yall like the descriptions and please add if you have anything you would like to say about us. Thanks to those that have commented (aka Kate) and we will definitely be posting pictures soon.

Oh, It's February?

That's right ladies and gentlemen. It is February. The second month of the year. Black History month. American Heart month. (By the way, how screwed up is it that Black History month has to share with American Heart month? Damn!). Anywho, for this month Pat and I have planned to finalize and book our reception hall/area (whatever it ends up being). Unfortunately, we haven't started looking yet! I guess you can't really blame us, its been pretty busy what with the crappy superbowl (did anyone else think the commercials really stunk this year?) , school, and Pat's birthday (she's 21 ladies and gentlemen!).

I already told you guys the tentative size of our guest list. Pat and I (peep the grammar) decided that the easiest way to announce the bridal party would be to just notify people individually. Once everyone has been notified, I'll put up the whole list up here (so as to avoid any "why'd you tell her first" arguments). One person has already been "officially" told. heh heh <-[thats my George Bush]

Our main concern is that we've read that a lot of hotels charge you to bring your own caterer and alcohol. We don't like that. We won't know how true this is until we actually get around to talking to some hotels. It could be that down south, its a different story than in bigger cities. Of course I guess Raleigh by some is considered a pretty big city (*cough* Thomas *cough*).

As stated in my first post, this is my first time blogging, so if you guys have any comments on how I can improve, please let me know. If you think I'm doing great, let me know. If you think I'm doing horribly, let me know. If you think Patricia should post more often, let me know. I think you get the picture. Comment guys! I wanna know that I'm loved.

Guest List Done...Or is it?

So Pat and I have finished creating our guest list!!! I had a misconception that the invitation would go out like, this summer (even though the wedding's not till next year) so that we would know well in advance how many people would be coming. Come to find out that your not supposed to send out the invitations till 2 months before the date. Wow! So anyways, our list is at 186 right now. Big number huh? Nah, I think its manageable. We're having a hard time trying to decide how to announce the bridal party though, bridesmaids and groomsmen and whatnot. We'll figure something out.

I dunno why Pat hasn't posted, but I'm sure that she will. Also, you guys can leave comments on our posts. It'd be nice if you did cuz then we'd know that there are actually people reading this!

First Update: Guest list?

Hey guys! Sorry to those of you who are following for the long delay in updating. As stated earlier, this is mine and pat's first time blogging so we're not used to getting on and posting often. We'll try to get better about that though :-) . So, over the past two weeks we've finally been able to talk to both sets of parents in order to get a nice little guest list built. We've got our list of immediate family, definite invites, and maybes as well. Yay!!! My side of the guest list was startin to look pretty big, but we were both relieved when hers ended up being about the same size. It looks to be about 120 guests, maybe slightly more or less. We won't have the definite guest list ready for a few weeks, but now that we've got a good estimate on how many people we want to invite, we can finally start hunting for a reception area.

Our plan as of right now is to have the reception area booked by the end of february. We originally wanted to have the reception in some kind of ball room at the hotel where most of our guests would be staying, so that they could just stumble up to their rooms after getting wasted (we want an open bar!) but there may be some complications: it seems like most hotels want you to use
their catering services, and charge a fee for every bottle you bring in etc.. Hopefully this is not the case for every hotel, and once we start looking at places we'll have a better idea of what we're looking at.

oh and
UPDATE: we have a date for the ceremony at the church already!!! May 29, 2010. Peep the countdown up top. This post is getting sort of lengthy, so I'll leave it to pat to update you guys on anything that I've missed.

Pat's First Post

hey everyone!!! So, like Wolfgang said, I hope that you like our website and that you can enjoy our experience in the wedding planning as much as we are! Hopefully we will provide more information about our engagement and our experience thus far, but for now, here it is in brief. We got engaged December 17th, 2008. We attended the Bridal Show in Raleigh, NC on January 3rd, 2009 in order to create a budget and to create a plan of action. Although not completely official, we set our date for May 29th, 2010 (hence the countdown!!!). Our wedding will probably be simple but quaint and eloquent. Wolfgang and I are madly in love and we just want everyone to partake in that on our wedding day. That is all the information we have so far, but we would like to thank you for all your blessings and help in the planning to come.

First Blog Entry!!!

So, both Pat and Myself have never blogged before, so this is a new experience for the two of us. We plan on chronicling our whole wedding planning journey on here for our own benefit as well as yours! We hope that you enjoy it, and please look forward to our next post (I think we might put up the details of our engagement or something). Also, I'll probably end up getting real picky about the layout for this piece, so you can probably expect that to change :-D
